Natural Sciences & Engineering Research SYNERGY AWARD for INNOVATION – Small & Medium-Sized Company – 2013

In 2013 Yellow Island Aquaculture was honoured to receive the prestigious Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council SYNERGY AWARD for INNOVATION in recognition of the partnership that has made research-based advancements for sustainable aquaculture practices for a native salmon species.

This award celebrates the collaboration over many years between Yellow Island Aquaculture, university academics and students in a productive multi-disciplinary interaction. The professors honoured were: Dr. Nic Bernier – U Guelph, Dr. Brian Dixon – U Waterloo, Dr. Bryan Neff – Western U, Dr. Trevor Pitcher – U Windsor, Dr. Daniel Heath – U Windsor, Dr. Dennis Higgs – U Windsor, ON and Dr. Mark Shrimpton – UNBC Prince George, BC.
